Mindsets for Success
5% More Fun
What if you had 5% more fun in your career, or on your job hunt? Maybe you’ll not only feel lighter, but you’ll see improved results. ; )
“I Did” vs. “We Should”
As an employee at your company, skip saying “we should do X.”
Instead, just do it first! Then show your team.
“Hey look, I created a content calendar.”
“I went ahead and cleaned the Google Drive.”
“I drafted up this new pricing plan. What do you think?”
Create value up front.

Quote of the Week
“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.“
― Anais Nin
The Lizard Brain
The Lizard Brain can stop you from growing.
The Lizard Brain – as Seth Godin popularized it – is the back of your brain, the stem, the oldest part in human evolution.
It doesn’t want you to stand out.
It wants you to stay tribal, and do what everyone else does.
It wants comfort, food, sex, safety, and sleep. That’s about it.
Creativity? Fulfillment?
Nah.
“You’re not creative enough, anyway,” the lizard reminds you.
“Just do what you’ve always done,” he assures.
But can you observe those voices, rather than let them control you?
Safety and comfort are legit needs, but are you sacrificing other needs for growth, self-expression, purpose, and creativity?
How could you get ALL of those needs met?
You can thank your Lizard Brain for his (or her) intentions.
Then go forge your path.
Go create.
Stand out.
Choose growth over comfort.
